Presidential Biography:
I have lived in Pueblo County Co. all of my life. My father's parents were both born in Slovenia. I was always interested in my ancestors, but I started doing genealogy research in earnest about 27 years ago. I have worked in the local LDS Family History Center for about 19 years and I have done personal research for others at no charge, that could not translate the Slovenian records. I visited Slovenia in May of 2001 and I have relation living there as well as a family of close friends. My husband, Gene, and I have lived on our farm for the last 43 years. We have 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 gg children.
I am actively working with the librarians at St. Mary’s Church. They have all of the old records in Pueblo area and are willing to help in any way to further the research of Slovenians. The library is strictly for Slovenian research.

A recent note from Bob Blazich of the DIOCESAN GENEALOGY CENTER (Specialization in Slovenian Genealogy)
Hi: I would like to inform you about our new Slovenian Genealogy Center here in Pueblo Colorado:
In the afternoon on Wednesday, November 8, 2000 Bishop Arthur Tafoya blessed the newly organized Genealogy Center at 211 E Mesa Pueblo, Co. In the presence of the TriParish staff and some guests. The blessing ceremony went on to include the John Gornick Slovenian Library, St Mary's Museum and the Library of the Blessed Sacrament Sisters.
The blessing marked the official beginning of the St Mary's Genealogy Center serving families seeking their sacramental records (prior to 1957) from the churches and missions in the Pueblo Diocese. In addition many cemetery records in Southern Colorado, Pueblo County Federal Naturalization records and various other records. Most records are on microfilm and are not setup for research by individuals but must be done by the center staff. A donation would be appreciate to off set the cost of the center. A seal of authencity would be applied if requested.
Requests may be directed to Bernice Krasovec or Bob Blazich at 719-564-1806 during the Centers hours 1:00 to 4:00 on Wednesday's. Since we have gotten the Bishop's blessing it is renamed the DIOCESAN GENEALOGY CENTER (SPECIALIZATION IN SLOVENIAN GENEALOGY)
