(pronounced Poeteeza) is a nut bread offered for sale in the markets in
Ljubljana and made in the villages of Slovenia. It is found also in
Croatia and Slovakia. The Croatians call their bread by the name
Povitica (pronounced Pavateeza). Many of the cultural and fraternal
societies have included recipes for making this nut bread in their
cookbooks. See the Slovenian Women's Union web site for details on
ordering cookbooks. However, many of us just don't have the time to
create this national treasure. Listed below are several sites that
offer nutbreads for sale. Let me know if these establishments offer a
quality product. While I can recommend The Kobe
House,
hopefuly you will let me know if more should be added or those that are
listed should be deleted. Contact me if you have comments regarding
products offered for sale by the following retailers or if you have a
new contact to add to this site. Webmaster
