SLOVENIAN RESEARCH LIST (SIRL)
Entries including and up to July, 1999, are located on web space provided by the Federation of Eastern European Family History Societies (FEEFHS). The SIRL is located on SGS web space for the year 2000.
Suggestions for a more effective SIRL message:
- Capitalize ALL Surnames.
- Do Not Capitalize Placenames.
- Provide dates in the European fashion, that is: day, month, year.
- Do not abbreviate any words.
- State your problem succinctly.
- Try to avoid cryptic messages - use words and statements that clarify.
- Include all relevant data, surnames and important dates of your search.
- Indicate the religion, if you know it.
- List all place names that are important to your search if you know them.
- Include all surnames you are searching or have information on to share with others.
- Avoid using forms or tables; using one line of text per subject is preferred.
- All words of your message are indexed by our search engine.
- Provide a mailing address if you don't have an E-mail address.
- Advise SGSi when your E-mail address or postal address changes.
- Encourage other Slovenia researchers you encounter to post here too.
- Try to spell the surnames as they were in Slovenia. There are no SH or CH endings of Slovenian names. You can put the H in parenthesis to indicate an English spelling.
